LESSONS MY DAD TAUGHT ME

PIN

I’ve learned a lot from my dad.

Like, there is great value in a day of hard work.  Break a sweat.

Even if you’ve done your best, sometimes you have to do it over anyway.  Using what you learned from the first trial should make it better on the second go-around.  I can’t begin to tell you how many prototypes I’ve made in my life.

If you befriend older people, bam!  Instant mentors!  Who the heck doesn’t want mentors?

Golf.  Keep your head down.  Left arm straight.  Don’t over-swing.  What’s that about.  Golf?  Yes, but also forming habits, following instruction and forming routines.

I remember when I was young, one of my friends had every cool thing in the world.  Like a minibike.  Sweet!  He was so lucky!  He had everything.  I went home and asked Dad if I could have a minibike.  Dad asked me why I needed one.  I said that they are fun.  He told me I had fun on my bike.  And we get to take vacations, he said.  He was right.  There has never been a day in my life when I’ve looked back and wished I had a minibike.  You need stuff, but you only need the right amount of stuff.

Live.  Love.  Relax.  Work hard.  Remember.  No matter what, you’ll always have fond memories to reflect back on.

You’ve taught me a lot.

Thanks Dad.  I love you.  Happy Father’s Day.
