Passion. It is what you get out of bed for on a Monday morning. I know, it’s not always there. But if you want to live your life in full-stream-ahead mode, you need to be passionate about whatever you’re doing. No, you don’t have to be passionate about everything you do. You can’t be passionate about toiling.
The Urban Dictionary defines passion as “when you put more energy into something than is required to do it. It is more than just enthusiasm or excitement, passion is ambition that is materialized into action to put as much heart, mind body and soul into something as is possible”.
For example, I absolutely love to help people improve their tailings management practices. That sounded pretty strange, but it’s true. I get so energized by digging deep into their archives, traveling to site, and discussing their practices!
It’s pretty funny, but until I was 40 years old, I wasn’t sure that this is what I wanted to do. Then…BAM!!! It hit me like a ton of bricks. I actually love doing this!
What’s your passion? Have you found it, or are you still looking?
