A few days ago, I had my fifth eye operation. All went well. The first surgery was to repair a detached retina which was caused by a really good collision when I was 13 years old, playing ice hockey. The recovery from that was a very slow process, and because of that procedure, I was not allowed to participate in contact sports again until high school. Then about 10 years ago, I had a much less complicated procedure for a torn retina, which was performed while I was on a business trip. A couple of years ago I had cataract surgery in one eye. This year I had a procedure to treat glaucoma in each eye. Considering all of that, I see pretty well.
I don’t know what I would do without my eyes. Treat your eyes well. Wear the right PPE for what you’re doing, whether you are working your day job, or doing chores around the house. Putting on a pair of safety glasses only takes a second. Your eyes will thank you.
